On March 19, the first joint event of the Women's Information Center and the Embassy of Israel was held.
As part of the friendly meeting, Israeli Ambassador Ms. Hadas Ester Meitzad invited the team of the Women's Information Center (WIC) and the women community leaders participating in WIC’S project "Women and Youth for the Implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda at the Local Level" to the performance.
Before the start of the event, the director of WIC, Elene Rusetskaya, introduced the conflict-affected, internally displaced women living along the so-called dividing line involved in the project to the Israeli ambassador. They briefed Hada Meitzad about the challenges they face in their municipalities. In addition, they shared their experiences, and personal stories and gave a handmade gift to an ambassador.
"Days of Regret" is an ironic drama by Israeli playwright Hanna Azulay Hasfari, which tells the story of 4 independent, completely different women. The play reminds us of the supremacy and importance of family unity despite the class, moral and mental differences of its members. Human relationships, forgetting the past, forgiveness, personal grievances, self-positioning in society, and jealousy - this is a small list of topics that the playwright touches on in a satirical manner.
It is symbolic that the screening of a play expressing sensitive topics for women took place in March, during Women's History Month. It should be noted that the performance was very interesting and fun for the attendees. "It was the truth of our life", "I recognized myself", and "it is unusually well thought out from a social point of view" - this is how women partners of the Women's Information Center evaluate the performance.
The performance is supported by the Embassy of Israel.
