Online meeting with the representatives of five municipalities was held by the initiative of Women’s Information Center

On 29 April, 2022 an online meeting with the representatives of five municipalities was held by the initiative of Women’s Information Center.

In the meeting took part Mayors’, Heads of the Municipalities’ representative bodies “Sakrebulos” and members of Gender Equality Councils of the following five municipalities: 1.Keda, 2.Kharagauli, 3.Zugdidi, 4.Bolnisi and 5.Khashuri. 

The meeting was held within the frame of the project “Women’s Empowerment and Meaningful Participation in Local Gender Politics”, supported by the Danish organization “KVINFO” and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. 

The main goal of the project is - Improved gender justice in Georgia within the areas of women's leadership and political participation, prevention and response to SGBV, gender stereotypes, capacity of civil society. 

Within the frame of the project Women’s Information Center will work actively in order to strengthen gender equality institutional machinery at the local level, empower local women in formation, implementation and monitoring of local policies, increase visibility of female politicians at the local level and raise awareness of local population about negative gender stereotypes, social norms, and attitudes that condone violence against women and harmful practices.
