One person detained in Samtredia for domestic violence and threat against family member

The officers of Samtredia police division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities detained I.D. (DoB 1972) for violence against his spouse and threat.

Committed crime envisages up to 3 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that on June 3, being under the alcohol influence, detainee verbally assaulted his spouse- Q.T. (DoB 1998) while they were raveling by taxi and threatened with liquidation. Detainee also inflicted injury in hand area with a cold steel to his spouse. After the incident the victim contacted police and asked for help.

Law enforcers detained I.D. as a result of operative-search and investigative activities several hours later after the crime in Samtredia.

During the search activities of the detainee, law enforcers seized the weapon of crime - knife as evidence.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of domestic violence and threat against family member, article 1261, I part and article 111 151, II part, sub-paragraph “D” envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
