Police detained one person in Batumi for threat against family member and failure to comply with requirements of the restraining order

The officers of Batumi police division of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities detained the citizen of Latvia- D.G. (DoB 1987) on the basis of the relevant court decision, accused of threat against the family member and failure to comply with requirements of the restraining order.

Committed crime envisaged up to 3 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that detainee threatened his spouse, Russian citizen- O.B. (DoB 1980) with liquidation, physically assaulted her. In addition, O.B. permanently approached the place of temporary residence of his spouse, D.G. and verbally communicated with her, thus, violating terms and requirements of the restraining order issued against him for psychological violence exercised against O.B.

Investigation on the fact of violence, threat and failure to comply with requirements of the restraining order is in progress under the article 1261, II part, sub-paragraph“E”, article 151, II part, sub-paragraph “D” and article 111-381, I part envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
