WOMEN'S PORTRAITS
Four girls, four lawyers and four Mariam’s: Mariam Titberidze, Mariam Tsertsvadze, Mariam Jorbenadze and Mariam Chakvetadze, started a campaign to help the elderly and created an initiative group -“Help the elderly” on the social network Facebook.
In order to facilitate the difficult situation for the elderly with regard to COVID19, the team decided to help. Soon, more than 15,000 people joined the Facebook group. With the help of friends, fellow workers, within 24 hours they were able to collect 55,500 GEL and provide up to 600 elderly people living in Tbilisi with, grocery, medicines and hygiene products.
Covid-19 - poses the greatest threat to the health and lives of older people. The decision to self-isolate is a problem for many elderly people - a "catharsis" that has provided food for vulnerable elderly people was closed.
Many companies have joined the initiative “Help the Elderly” , including Tbilisi City Hall.
