Women's Information Center, in partnership with the German Institute for Political Narratives (IFPON), held workshops On November 21-22. The meetings were organized within the framework of the IFPON’S two-year project - "Empowering young people against online radicalization".
Religious and violent extremism and its prevention policies on the example of Europe, the role of the civil sector and the media in the direction of inciting/preventing radicalism, and the challenges of democracy - these and other issues were discussed by experts from Germany, France, Georgia and the North Caucasus.
The participants of the meeting were representatives of the German Institute for Political Narratives, the Women's Information Center’s and invited experts, as well as active young people/high-ranking students from various higher education institutions.
The purpose of the meeting was to share international experiences in the direction of preventing violent extremism and radicalism. The experts discussed the theoretical and practical aspects of the identified challenges and possible ways to prevent them. They delivered insights into global problems as well as specific problems in their respective countries.
The meetings continued in the question-and-answer mode and a lot of time was devoted to discussion. The participants raised questions and heard the competent opinions and recommendations of the invited experts. According to the audience, the speakers touched on many key issues. The participants also emphasized the importance of communicating with international experts.
In addition, the manual "Prevention of Online Radicalism" issued within the framework of the project was sent to all of the conference participants. It can serve as a basis for practical training and work with young audiences.
