Ministry of Internal Affairs detained one person in Tbilisi for lewd act

The officers of the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities, detained I.B (D.O.B 1966) for committing lewd act against the person who has not reached the age of 16.

Committed crime envisages from 5 to 7 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that, I.B contacted 12-year old minor on the regular basis through the accounts created in Facebook and “V Kontakte” social networks on his son’s name and sent texts, as well as photo-video footage containing sexually explicit materials. It was also ascertained that detainee led the conversations with the minor through social media accounts on the topic of sexual life for 2 years, thus committing the lewd act on purpose.

As a result of operative-search and investigative activities, law enforcers detained I.B in Tbilisi.
During the personal search and search activities conducted in his apartment, law enforcers seized mobile phones and computer software containing materials confirming the guilt of the detainee.

The investigation is in progress on the fact of lewd act committed knowingly with a person who has not attained the age of 16 years (part I of the Article 141 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
