Women’s rights in Georgia: current situation and recommendations of CEDAW committee
2014-08-08 00:00:00

On July 7-8, 2014 in Geneva, the Georgian side introduced two reports to the CEDAW committee: the shadow report of NGOs and the official report of the government of Georgia.

On the basis of these two reports, the CEDAW committee prepared a package of recommendations for the government of Georgia. The government has to provide the CEDAW committee members with the information about implementation of these recommendations in two years.

What was the process like, what expectations the representatives of civil sector have and how the recommendations will reflect on improvement of women’s rights in Georgia?
